The holiday season is upon us, and people from every corner of the world are preparing for their own personal festivities. This time invokes happiness, charity and a little bit of home cooking. To take part in the holiday cheer, here are three yummy recipes featuring our favorite product: Sage!

1. Walnut and Sage Scones

If you're looking for a tasty treat you can enjoy any time of day, look no further than this flaky pastry. Sweet and savory, you can enjoy this scone with morning coffee or an evening espresso! Feel free to add any fruit substitutes you have in your pantry for extra taste and enjoy, according to Food52!

Scone ingredients:

1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
4 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup white whole wheat flour
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/8 cups sugar
1/2 toasted walnuts
1/4 cup greek yogurt
1 teaspoon sage - minced
Brown Butter Maple Glaze ingredients
1/8 cup maple syrup
1 tablespoon milk or cream
1/3 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon butter

Directions

Heat oven to 425 degrees.
Whisk milk and yogurt together and set aside when done.
Grate four tablespoons of butter and put in freezer.
Mix flours, sugar, baking powder and soda, salt and sage. Then add the frozen grated butter and toss until butter is coated in other ingredients. Stir in the milk mixture to combine.
Knead mixture until all ingredients come together. Press into 1/4" thick square and fold up the long sides in third - letter-style. Fold short sides until you have a smaller tall square. Place on a floured plate and put in freezer for five minutes.
Take out of the freezer and fold dough into 1/4" thick square. Use walnuts to cover the surface by pressing them into the mixture to make them stick. Roll the dough into a log, then press into a rectangle with the seam facing down. Cut the dough in half using a floured knife then cut each half into triangles.
Bake for 18-20 minutes or until browned.

For the glaze

Melt butter in a pan and add maple syrup.
Whisk in confectioner's sugar once bubbles have subsided.
Add milk or cream to thin the glaze into a spreadable form.
Drizzle scones with glaze.

2. Sage and Onion Bread Dressing

Are you looking for a dish that's full of flavor and will leave guests' bellies warm? This sage and onion bread dressing from The Kitchn is perfect for meals with family and friends and can be made vegetarian-friendly! The dressing is simple to make and will leave guests asking for your recipe!

Dressing ingredients:

4 tablespoons unsalted butter + additional 2 tablespoons melted
1 teaspoon salt
Fresh-ground black pepper
2 large eggs, beaten
1 pound diced yellow onions
4 large stalks of celery, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup chopped fresh sage leaves
Leaves from 4 stalks of thyme
2 cups vegetable, turkey or chicken stock
16- to 18-ounce loaf of rustic white bread - cut into 1-inch cubes - need 10 cups

Directions

Preheat oven to 225 degrees.
Bake cubes of bread for 90 minutes or until crisp; stir every half-hour.
Using medium heat, heat butter in a skillet and add onions, garlic and celery. Cook for 10 minutes or until vegetables are soft.
Stir in sage and thyme and cook for 2 more minutes. Turn off heat.
Beat the eggs with the broth, salt and black pepper - don't be stingy.
Using a large bowl, fold together the toasted bread cubes with the cooked vegetables and add in the egg-broth mixture.
Spread complete mixture into a large baking dish and add the 2 tablespoons of melted butter.

If you're ready to bake dressing right away, turn the oven up to 375 degrees. Bake stuffing - covered with tin foil - for 25 minutes. Then remove the covering and bake for another 15 minutes or until golden brown.

If you plan to bake the dressing later, cover it with foil and place in the refrigerator. Expect to add 10 extra minutes of baking time if you take this route.

3. Sage Meatloaf

If you're looking for something a little more hearty to remind you of being home this holiday season, try this meatloaf recipe that will pique eaters' taste buds! Sage adds a little more flavor to an already tasty dish and the preparation time is minimal, according to this recipe from Taste of Home!

Meatloaf ingredients:

1/2 teaspoon rubbed sage
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup ketchup
1 teaspoon ground mustard
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 cup crushed saltines
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2/3 cup milk
1 egg, lightly beaten
1.5 pounds ground beef

Directions

Set oven to 350 degrees.
Combine egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, saltines, onion, salt, sage and pepper in a large bowl.
Crumble beef into the mixture and mix well.
Move and pat mixture into an ungreased loaf pan.
Bake uncovered for 50 minutes.
Combine brown sugar, mustard, nutmeg, ketchup and spread over the top of the meatloaf.
Bake for another 15-20 minutes or until meat is not pink.
Make sure meat thermometer reads 160 degrees.

Allow meatloaf to cool for 10 minutes before cutting and serving.
