Sage Foundation Launches in North America

New Sage philanthropic organization sets corporate social responsibility standards with innovative 2+2+2 community model

ATLANTA (March 16, 2016) – Sage, a market leader for integrated accounting, payroll and payment systems, supporting the ambition of the world’s entrepreneurs, today launched the Sage Foundation in North America, leveraging a unique, holistic model to increase the level of community impact.

The global foundation sets a new benchmark for corporate partnerships with charities, social enterprises and nonprofit organizations through its 2+2+2 model for working with the community. Under this unique model, Sage is committed to giving 2 percent of employee time (5 days paid volunteering per year), 2 percent of free cash flow and 2 donated software licenses to eligible registered charities, social enterprises and nonprofit organizations.

"At Sage, corporate social responsibility is not just an ancillary effort; it's intrinsically rooted in our company’s DNA," said Marc Scheipe, president of Sage North America. "Through the Sage Foundation, our more than 13,000 colleagues will help disadvantaged sectors of our communities in all of the 23 countries in which Sage currently operates, creating sustainable social and economic opportunities in our local communities around the world."

As the first major initiative for the Sage Foundation in North America, the organization held a dinner where Scheipe presented a $50,000 donation to Brian Stann, CEO of Hire Heroes, a national organization dedicated to transforming military service into civilian success.

Sage Foundation also hosted a business simulation day at Junior Achievement, an organization that prepares youths to succeed in a global economy by giving firsthand experience at being a working adult.

With the 2+2+2 model, Sage is poised to complete 66,500 days or 532,000 volunteer hours, per year, in addition to donations of software licenses and funds for selected non-profit organizations.

Sage Foundation launched in South Africa in January, followed by Australia in February. Throughout the year, the foundation will go live in all of the 23 countries in which Sage operates.
