ATLANTA (March 1, 2016) – Sage, a market leader in accounting, payroll and payments, has announced the next stage of its global marketing plans, appointing Van Diamandakis as executive vice president, brand.
Diamandakis will support the chief marketing officer (Santiago Solanas Ruiz) in developing the overall marketing vision and strategy for the Sage brand, leading on all aspects of brand strategy; positioning, portfolio and brand architecture and strategic commercial planning.
Diamandakis brings more than 20 years of technology marketing experience at brands including AT&T, Oracle, Dell and WebEx Communications. Most recently, he was chief marketing officer at Corvil Networks in Dublin, Ireland.
In a time of seismic technological change and digital disruption for small and medium businesses, Sage has made a major investment in putting these customers at the heart of its marketing efforts.
In January, Sage rolled out the first of five global digital marketing campaigns, using advice-based content. In 2015, Sage opened Customer Business Centers in Atlanta and Dublin to attract and support customers around the world. And it is currently recruiting for 100 additional roles across digital, demand generation, social and communications.
Santiago Solanas, Sage chief marketing officer, commented: "Our strategy is to provide a consistently exceptional experience to our millions of customers and prospects by operating as 'One Sage'. Van's appointment signals our ambition for our brand globally. We are pushing the boundaries of marketing, moving from B2B to H2H (human to human) and are always looking for world-class marketers that want to change the world to join our team."
Diamandakis brings a wealth of experience in technology marketing. At DDB Chicago, he was responsible for Dell's global direct response advertising account with a $100 million budget, leading on the award-winning 'Dell Dude' campaign, which propelled Dell to number-one in the PC category, according to IDC, in 1999.
He adds: "Sage is a trusted brand around the world, and the challenge of building on that in a way that disrupts the market was one I couldn't resist. Sage's new vision is at the forefront of B2B marketing and the brand we build and communicate is absolutely central to that work."
Sage is a market leader for integrated accounting, payroll, and payment systems, supporting the ambition of the world’s entrepreneurs. Sage began as a small business in the U.K. 30 years ago, and over 13,000 colleagues now support millions of entrepreneurs, across 23 countries, as they power the global economy. We reinvent and simplify business accounting through brilliant technology, working with a thriving community of entrepreneurs, business owners, tradespeople, accountants, partners, and developers.
