Girl Scouts Using Sage Mobile Payments Sell More Cookies

Average number of boxes increases from four to five boxes when using a mobile payment solution

ATLANTA (January 16, 2016)Sage, a market leader for integrated accounting, payroll and payment systems, supporting the ambition of the world’s entrepreneurs, today announced that nearly 30 Girl Scout councils and more than 3,800 troops across the U.S. are selling Girl Scout cookies using Sage Mobile Payments. In 2015, the Girl Scout councils that used Sage Mobile Payments to sell cookies using smartphones and tablets sold an average of five boxes per transaction, up from four boxes per transaction the previous year (2014).

"Many people don’t carry cash or checks, so accepting credit cards with Sage Mobile Payments allows our Girl Scouts to sell cookies to a lot more people," said Alisha Moore, chief customer experience officer with Girl Scouts Louisiana East in New Orleans. "Cookie sales for the troops in our council using Sage Mobile Payments increased by 13 percent, and the per-girl-average in those troops increased from 156 boxes to 177 boxes. Just as important, using Sage Mobile Payments exposes the girls to a growing technology and helps them learn about different sales tactics and multiple payments types."

In addition, Sage Mobile Payments is the only way our troops can successfully operate cookie booths at large convention center events attended by tens of thousands of participants. The troops couldn’t keep up in busy venues without it."
